So I asked Anna if I could post every now and then, and to my delight, she said yes. Here's my first try. Nathan actually talks quite a bit, but he mostly says about 3-4 words or, to be exact, makes about 3-4 regular sounds. He says something like "That" and "Ba" and "Ma" and "Da" (and, sadly, those last two don't seem to be early versions of Mom and Dad). But one thing he does say consistently if not always at the right time is "Bye Bye." Usually he says bye to people or things after they are already gone, after we have tried to show off this new found skill. But sometimes the timing can be perfect.
Yesterday at church, for example, Nathan, who continues to be just a skinny little guy (sorry for those genes...), squirmed out of his pants while we were sitting in sacrament meeting. As the pants fall to the ground, he says, looking down, "Bye Bye." Well said, Nathan. Well said.
